12 October, 2009 – Business-to-business and technology specialist, iseepr, has won a brief to deliver an international media relations campaign on behalf of the European Payments Council, the coordination and decision making body for the European banking industry. The hire was made without a pitch and comes as the European Payments Council prepares to launch the SEPA Core Direct Debit Scheme and SEPA Business to Business Direct Debit Scheme on 2 November. From that point onwards, banks across Europe will gradually roll out SEPA Direct Debit services.
The schemes will enable bank customers – for the first time ever – to make and receive both domestic and cross-border euro direct debit payments throughout the 32 countries that make up the Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA). SEPA comprises the 27 EU member states, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Switzerland and Monaco.
SEPA is an EU payments integration initiative designed to achieve the completion of the EU internal market and monetary union. SEPA is the area where citizens, companies and other economic participants can make and receive payments in euro, within Europe, within or across national boundaries under the same basic conditions, rights and obligations, regardless of their location.
Campaign activity will be centered on a Brussels-based press conference, to be held on 13 October. Media relations activity will be coordinated by iseepr across Europe, with a focus on securing high profile broadcast and print coverage targeted primarily at businesses and the public sector.
Lee’ann Kaufman, Managing Director of iseepr, comments: “iseepr is already very active in the global payments market, so we welcome the opportunity to work with the European Payments Council on this campaign. As well as raising awareness of the SEPA initiative, we expect the campaign to generate significant interest in the work of the organisation and its significant contributions to make SEPA a reality.”
"iseepr has provided an additional dimension to the face of iCritical's products as well as the company itself. I can honestly say that the literature, web presence and marketing campaigns delivered by iseepr have increased the company’s exposure and raised our professional bar. As an added bonus the team is extremely resourceful and a pleasure to work with"
